Day 15
A serious business call with Rayan today on how to proceed with setting up the business account for the start of the Farmers Market. In no way will I be making millions, but it’s the start of my little project. Thank goodness for Rayan, as I really do not know the logistics of setting up a business, but he, like his dad seem to sail through with it. I think I am good at PR though. Once it’s all set up, I will be able to carry on, I hope, ha ha. Like I said at the beginning of my journey, give me a kitchen with my ingredients, lovely people and the surroundings of nature and I can give you a wonderful culinary experience.
Back to business, I have been delegated to do the following as the next step
a) Insurance for the Market Stall
b) Open a Business Bank Account
c) Get a Card Reader and set it up (Rayan help!!!)
d) A National Insurance Number
e) Packaging for my baking
f) Stickers for the packaging
I Will work on this all over the next days. I also need to get a sort of Pergola cover and a couple of tables for the stand. That’s the easy part really.
As the weather is much warmer now, the cherry trees need a little watering, I noticed out of the thirty of them, one seemed a little poorly. I do need to keep my eye on it over the next weeks. By the way, these trees are all on guarantee and the Tree Company replace any poorly trees for upto a year, which is really great for a start up like me.
Leaving my little Orchard in the evening, I heard really loud cries that seemed like an animal in pain. As I turned around to walk towards the area where the cries were coming from, it stopped. I could not see anything as there were many bushes in the way. I proceeded to walk away and thought perhaps a deer was giving birth. As I walked down the hill, the sounds of cries started again. A few hours later on, through our village email network, we heard a deer had died. We still do not know the reason why? Again new to me, I am not sure if it could have been a fox, or a bird of prey or if the deer has tangled itself up somehow. Very sad indeed, but also nature taking its course.
