Day 34
Waffles. There are so many different types of waffles, but to me, the best are my Oma’s style German Waffles. That was the small discussion around the breakfast table with my Aunt and mum today. My Oma had this wonderful, old orange, electric waffle machine, which was passed on to my mum. It is round in the shape of eight small hearts. The German waffles are more cake like and not so crispy as the Belgium ones. We grate in a bit of lemon and put in some vanilla sugar into the recipe, and it gives it such a wonderful taste. We eat them plain, with some icing sugar dusted on top, or with jam, honey and/or cream.
We went into town to show the family around, and once we were finished with the sightseeing, of course, we embarked on a coffee shop in town. My father pointed out a person that had such a resemblance to a very close, dear friend of mine, who lives up in Scotland. In the end, I had to chat to her and told her she had a twin. A lovely lady, we started discussing one thing after the other and it turns out she is opening an Italian Deli, within five weeks, in the same town. I went on to discuss my baking and little project in the pipeline. We agreed we would meet up again once her Deli is open, and she too would like to be at one of my Dinner Experiences. It was lovely meeting her.
All The toiletry brackets have been fitted by Reza. TGC is looking more and more cosy by the day. Not long until our photographer arrives. This will be the last piece to put together for our website. And then hopefully, it will be all systems go. Very exciting times ahead.
Reza and Rayan are also looking into ways of installing a Swedish Hot Tub. That sounds amazing for the winter time.
Our neighbour is now weaning all his lambs from their mums. The lambs are bleating away and it sounds so sad as they are looking for their mummys’. I hope they don’t do that for two long. I feel like, I want to jump over the fence and cuddle and calm them all. Another step learnt, from our neighbour when rearing sheep.
