Fantastic News. The Hygiene Inspector emailed me to say I got a “5” rating, which is great news. I was over the moon. Another tick of the check list, and another step forward.
The baking today went really well. For the Market stall, I have baked Traditional Stollen, Chocolate chip and Marzipan Stollen, Lemon Drizzle Stollen, Spinach, Cheese and Onion Stollen. As for cakes, I have made an amazing German Cheese Cake, Gooey Date Cake, Apple Cake, Blueberry and Apple Cake. I also included two Gluten Free Cakes, an Almond Cake and a Chocolate Cake. A few people asked for Gluten Free options last time, so I thought it would be a good idea to make a few.
The weather was looking quite rainy for market day, but it is looking a bit better, so hopefully stays that way. My extra table for the market has still not arrived. Hermes are supposed to be delivering it and I keep getting a message saying the delivery has been delayed. It is ridiculous as they always make the same excuse, that they attempted delivery, but could not do so. All other delivery companies come on time except for Hermes.
As I was baking today, there was almost a full family of deer in the garden. They are always under the crabapple tree trying to eat them. The biggest one today, was also grabbling onto the bigger branches and pulling at them. I hope they are not planning on eating all our actual apples of the trees once they are ripe and ready. I need some for my baking!!
