Day 60
Once again, there were absolutely wonderful vibes at the Market Stall yesterday. I can't help but emphasize how fantastic and friendly the people are in this charming little town. Aside from selling cakes and stollen, we get to meet a many different people, some of whom love to to chat, allowing us to learn about their various backgrounds. One particular lady and her husband enjoyed the cake so much that they returned for more; she even jokingly asked if she could take me home with her. The cakes were a hit, with the two cheesecakes being the first to go. My innovative twist on the stollen, transformed into a "lemon drizzle" flavor for the summer season, is definitely a hit.
Since the launch of the website, numerous inquiries have poured in regarding the dinner experiences at the farm. Next week, I'll be preparing a few sample menus along with their pricing to send out. A delightful lady who visited the Market Stall also inquired about the dinner experiences. There's something truly wonderful about being able to interact with someone in person. So, tomorrow marks another exciting day as I do my trial dinner experience for the first time, and I'm looking forward to the results.
We also had a visit by a gentleman at the Market Stall who specializes in apple juicing and bottling. It was a great opportunity for Reza to discuss this with him. Given that it's our first attempt at juicing our own apples, we sought advice on the right time for harvesting them and which varieties are best suited for juicing. We came away with a lot of information, and contact details were exchanged, leaving us more informed about the juicing process when the time is right.
In the afternoon, heavy rain poured down briefly, sparing us the task of watering the cherry trees for the day. They appear to be looking healthier. Our lawn mower has also been repaired, which means some sections of the grass are now looking tidier and more controlled for this time of year.
In the evening we did some strength training, a HIIT class, a visit to the spa, and a delicious meal of grilled salmon with pasta, accompanied by a glass of bubbly. A well-deserved treat for both of us after a long, satisfying, and productive day.
