Although I do have a lot of online work to tackle this week, or paperwork to sort through, the start of the week has been a bit slow for me. Nevertheless, it allows me some time to think and reflect on all the upcoming events.
We had a delightful evening catching up with neighbours who live about a mile away. I will always remember when Rayan and I first met them at the gate of our house last December, and they introduced themselves. A week later, Reza and I were taking a walk in the woods when we encountered them and their lovely dogs for the second time. They kindly invited us into their beautiful home, where we enjoyed coffee and cake. They made us feel incredibly welcome in the area. After our return from Bahrain in March, they invited us to dinner, where we met a few other neighbours of theirs, as well as their parents. It was a wonderful evening.
For the dinner, I decided to prepare a hot German-style potato salad, a side salad, and Frikadelen, which is a German-style hamburger prepared the way my mum and Oma (Grandmother) would make it—with onions, garlic, mustard, salt, and pepper, along with a bit of bread. They were then lightly fried. Our neighbours enjoyed them very much. Dessert consisted of raspberry cake served with Greek honey yogurt and ground pistachios.
I have some online items to order for my next dinner experience on the 7th of October. My list of cakes to be baked for the farmer's market on Saturday is also ready.
Our next batch of pressed apple juice is prepared and ready for pickup.
Our youngest son is getting ready for his second year of university. Where did that first year go? He is now moving out of student accommodation and into a house with five friends for his second year. We wish him the best of luck! That's what parents always wish for.
A nice sunny day is ahead after the recent stormy weather. So, there might be an opportunity for some outdoor work today!
Love reading your updates Fatima💕
