Day 79
The dinner was a great success! The girls who were helping me arrived on time. The guests arrived for their pre-dinner drinks. Reza warmly welcomed everyone. I also had the chance to meet the guests, many of whom were from the local area. It's always interesting to discover that there's usually someone who has been to Bahrain, either for a visit or for work purposes.
We had name cards set up at the table for everyone, and about half an hour later, everyone was seated for their first course. Each course was served with approximately a half-hour to a forty-five-minute gap in between. The third and fourth courses were served together, and we allowed for more time between the main course and dessert to give everyone the opportunity to chat and digest their meal. Often, when dining at restaurants, there's a sense of being rushed between courses, and you feel pressured to finish and leave within two hours. At our place, we want everyone to enjoy a leisurely experience without that rushed feeling.
Dessert was served, followed by Persian tea. Before each course was consumed, I briefly explained the recipe and its origins.
While I was busy preparing things in the kitchen and plating the courses, the girls did an excellent job taking food to the table, clearing plates, and ensuring that everyone had access to water throughout the evening. Overall, they did a great job.
Reza joined the guests for a chat during dessert, and the evening concluded on a positive note. In fact, time seemed to fly by quickly. Overall, it was a delightful and enjoyable night! And our guests left very happy! I'm really looking forward to the next dinner on November 18th. There are only four spots left!
