Day 80
Sunday was spent as our usual relaxing day, or as we like to call it, our "lazy" day. We met up with our new friends in the nearby town. We sat on the terrace, and surprisingly, the weather was beautiful and sunny for October.
When we got back home, we made some nice tea and headed back up the hill on our field to soak in the breathtaking views and surroundings.
I received a lot of positive feedback via messages and email about our last dinner from our guests. It was lovely to hear that they loved the food, the ambience, and our hospitality. It makes me even more excited for the upcoming dinner in November.
I'm currently working on sample menus for our festive afternoon teas in November and December. I have many ideas but am still deciding on how to set up the menu.
Our town's annual apple parade and market is coming up this Saturday! The Apple Fayre, like other similar events, plays a small yet significant role in reconnecting people with their environment and addressing the challenges of climate change and biodiversity loss. It reminds us that local actions can have an impact and that by coming together and keeping a deeper connection with nature, we can work towards a more sustainable and happier relationship with our planet.
So, it's all about apples! There will be much more apple baking this coming Friday. It will be my first time there, but I've heard that many people, including lots of young children from schools are involved in the parade and attend. I'm really looking forward to it.
