Day 83
We had a delightful, long family walk in and around the woods, covering just over 10 kilometres. The weather was colder, but the sun was shining, making it such a pleasure.
After a busy last week of baking, this week has been a bit calmer and more relaxed. Something I don't really like as I still prefer to stay busy; it's my happy place, especially when I'm doing something I'm passionate about. I've been working on the menus for my festive afternoon teas, and I'll keep everyone posted on that.
Over the past few days, I've been in touch with the organisers of various Christmas Fayres during the festive season. Some have already filled up with stalls and won't accept any more. I'm on the waiting list for the one in our little town, which I would love to be a part of, so I'm hoping it might work out. Our next Market Stall is on the 28th of October, and I've been told it will mark the end of the Apple Season, so it looks like it will be all about apples again, which is fantastic.
We also had lovely guests stay over the weekend at TGC. A charming couple, and it was a delightful experience! It was wonderful to receive such a beautiful review from them too.
I prepared one of my favourite recipes for Reza and me - Prawns with Broccoli and Cashew nuts in a light garlic, mint, and lemon sauce. I always feel that a handful of ingredients with herbs and perhaps a touch of chilli tastes so good compared to very heavy saucy recipes. Although, sometimes, heavy recipes do serve as excellent comfort food, especially during the colder months.
