Day 84
It has been quite a few busy days, and I have not managed to get my daily write-up in. But being busy is a good thing. I'm excited to share that our Dinner Experiences are going really well, and we have already "sold out" for our December dinner too! The word is getting out to others, and many are enquiring and showing interest in our "Middle Eastern Experience" with a touch of Europe. Given all the distressing events happening in our world these days, from wars to climate change and conflicts between different countries and cultures, perhaps our little dinners offer a lovely way to bring people from diverse backgrounds together to enjoy a meal.
As the colder season approaches, I have started cooking more soups, stews, and dishes featuring beans and vegetables. The humble chickpea is one of those foods that people either love or don't. It offers numerous nutrients and health benefits. You can enjoy them simply boiled with a pinch of salt and a splash of lemon, or you can use them in a variety of dishes, whether vegetarian or with meat. The very simple dip, "hummus," which is now known worldwide, is a staple in almost every household. Recently, I prepared a straight forward chickpea and green bean curry with just a handful of ingredients, serving it with Basmati rice. The addition of lemon and a touch of red chilli gave it a delightful final taste.
I have my list of cakes to bake for the next market all set. One of the cheese cakes this time will be a Black Forest one. I'm looking forward to seeing how my customers will like it.
While I've been busy with my work, Reza has been working on our "dirty kitchen," and it's looking great so far. There are still a few things that need to be completed, but we're almost there!
