Day 9
Another crazy full on day when you expect everything to go right and a spanner gets thrown into the works. The furniture for TGC arrived this morning and I felt like we are now at 95% percent with our first small project. The delivery guys had arrived and were assembling everything and then I thought, wow just the sofa and that’s all the furniture in. I turned around to see the delivery guys start to leave and there was no sofa. When we checked with them we were told there was no sofa on their listing. Panic set in, called the furniture store and ended up going there and now we have to wait for it until 15th June. Apparently there was a miscommunication.
In the middle of all of this, I started baking really early this morning for the fete tomorrow and I am so happy with the final result of my ‘Chocolate Chip, Marzipan mini stollens’ and ‘cherry/apple cake’. I have taken some photos and a video clip to keep for the official opening of Rima’s home bakery.
All my other deliveries arrived today, which is great as I need some of them also for tomorrow’s fete.
My 30 cherry trees are all looking fine so far. Some of them have more leaves than others, I have two types at the moment, the Morello, which is for eating and baking and the Cherokee Lapin which is mainly for eating. Apparently the Lapin tree gets quite heavy when its time for the cherries to be picked. This is all so new and exciting to me, so I look forward to seeing every step of the growth of these trees and hopefully more to come. That’s all for today everyone
