Day 93
The market stall went really well, and I was thrilled with the outcome. I had decided to incorporate some cakes to compliment the cooler autumn and winter months, as well as the Christmas season, and they proved to be a hit! Both the Linzer Torte and Red Wine Cake sold exceptionally well for the first time. The large stollen, sliced and displayed, was also a success. Of course, the cheesecakes were gone first, with the Black Forest one being the first to sell out. I'm looking forward for my customers to return and provide feedback on the new cakes I prepared.
The next significant market event is on November 25th, attracting thousands of people each year. I'm particularly excited as I had been on a waiting list for this opportunity. I hope the designated space I've been given will be favourable. The festive season markets have been on my mind since I started my first market back in June, and now it's just around the corner. It's my favourite time of the year, filled with family and friends gatherings, baking, cooking, Christmas markets, concerts, carols, and a beautiful atmosphere. In recent years, attending the nativity at St Albans Cathedral has become a tradition. Although I'm not religious, it brings me back to my childhood when these stories were shared at my convent school. I was always part of a Christmas play each year.
The upcoming weeks will be busy with preparations for Christmas baking, ensuring everything is in order for the festive season markets.
